Labour agitations due to Mahama’s good governance – Kwakye Ofosu

Deputy Communications Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu says he is proud to be part of a government which allows its citizens to demonstrate freely.
According to him, the rampant agitation on the labour front is due to President Mahama’s understanding of good governance.
Kwakye Ofosu made the comment on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Monday whiles reacting to the planned nationwide demonstration by Organized Labour on Thursday, July 24.
Prior to it, Members of the Tema regional office of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) have hit the streets to protest what they say is the high cost of living in the country.
This some pundits have attributed to government’s mismanagement of the economy.
But the Deputy Communications Minister thinks otherwise, insisting “it is their constitutional right to demonstrate.
“Gone were the days where government’s prevented people from demonstrating, and I’m very proud to be part of a government which allows people to exercise their fundamental human rights”.
According to him, the fact that there are incessant demonstrations across the country means there is a problem.
Kwakye Ofosu said most of the issues being raised are generic, and government is taking giant steps to address all of them.
Conceding that there is a genuine difficulty, the Deputy Communications Minister maintained that government is working assiduously to resolve the issues.
