Cwesi Oteng, others for Africa Gospel Music Awards 2014

Ghanaian gospel artistes, Cwesi Oteng, Nii Okai and Joe Mettle have been nominated for this year’s Africa Gospel Music Awards (AGMA). This year will mark the awards' 5th edition.

The awards ceremony which is scheduled for Sunday, August 24 at the Fairfield Halls Concert Hall in Croydon, UK, will be hosted by international gospel artiste Sonnie Badu.

Since the inception of AGMA, other Ghanaian gospel artistes such as Akesse Brempong, Koda and Ohemaa Mercy have earned nominations in the various categories in the past years.

Founded in 2009, the AGMA has served as the face and voice for the African gospel and Christian music community worldwide. It has exposed, promoted and celebrated gospel music through Africa-fusion music of all styles.

It aims to honour and recognise talented and hardworking gospel artistes based in Africa and in the diaspora.

Apart from artistes being recognised, organisations and other media entities who seek to promote African gospel music and artistes have been duly awarded.

Sunset Drive with Kojo Oppong Adjei on Sunny FM, Praiz TV on TV3, Africa Worships with Sonnie Badu, Monarch Praise and Sing Out 2013 are some of the programmes from Ghana that have earned nominations in AGMA previous editions.
