Contemporary Ghanaian gospel artiste, Nii Okai, has been nominated for this year’s Africa Gospel Music Awards (AGMA). Other Ghanaian artistes nominated included Cwesi Oteng and Joe Mettle.

This year will mark the 5th edition of the awards.

The awards which are scheduled for Sunday, August 24, at the Fairfield Halls Concert Hall in Croydon, UK will be hosted by international gospel artiste, Sonnie Badu.

Since the inception of AGMA, other Ghanaian gospel artistes like Akesse Brempong, Koda and Ohemaa Mercy have earned nominations in various categories in the past years.

Founded in 2009, the AGMA has served as the face and voice for the African gospel and Christian music community worldwide.

It has exposed, promoted and celebrated gospel music through Africa-fusion music of all styles.

Its aim is to honour and recognise talented and hard working gospel artistes based in Africa and in the diaspora.
