‘Adapt new technology to remain competitive’

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UT Bank and President of UT Holdings, Prince Kofi Amoabeng, has admonished corporate Ghana to adapt quickly to the growing trend in technology in order to remain relevant in the business environment.

He said such a move would also help them address challenges while making it possible for them to remain a step ahead of their competitors.

The UT boss gave the advice at the launch of ‘Vodafone Ready Business’ in Accra.

“Today, technology has immense advantages for the running of business. For instance, social media can make you a success and it can also collapse your business if you joke with it. Organisations must position themselves to reap the full potential that technology presents,” Mr Amoabeng said.

The Head of Vodafone Business Solution (VBS), Mrs Angela Mensah-Poku, said VBS, which is a unit within Vodafone Ghana, was committed to delivering a range of innovative and integrated solutions tailored to meet the communication needs of businesses.

“This means that medium to large companies and small companies can take advantage of our unique customisable smart choice mobile service that helps them to manage communication costs and enjoy free calls to colleague workers on the plan,” she said.

Mrs Mensah-Poku added that businesses concerned about increasing efficiency could take advantage of this package to manage communication costs, track their fleet and network branches nationwide.

She explained that the launch of the new service was necessitated by feedback the company had from more than 1,000 business and information and technology professionals.

The biggest issue facing many businesses now is predicting the future which Vodafone Ready Business seeks to address.

“Vodafone Business Solutions has, therefore, leveraged this to come up with a new campaign, Ready Business, because we believe that all businesses must be prepared to deal with unforeseen changes they will face in the future. It’s about empowering businesses with our technology where everything and everyone is confidently connected everywhere. And the more intelligently your business is connected, the more ready it can be,” she added.
