Ashanti youth group warns Kennedy Agyapong

Members of the Asante Youth Association are warning Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin central, Kennedy Agyapong to desist from making provocative comments about Asantes or face their wrath.

“Kennedy cannot use the good image of Nana Addo in the Ashanti Region. We are warning him to stop that cheap politics,” they stated.

The owner of Accra-based radio station, Oman FM is alleged to have accused some chiefs and elders in the Ashanti Region of working to prevent Nana Akufo-Addo from becoming the President of Ghana.

His recent comments appear to have sparked anger among indigenes of the area with many describing his comments as outrageous.

Speaking to Citi News, Communications Director of the Asante Youth Association, Nana Boadi, described Kennedy Agyapong’s comments as irresponsible and threatened to use every means possible to stop him.

“Any legal means, whatever that we are suppose to do to bring him down, we are going to do it for him to know what he is doing is uncalled for,” he added.

The group also accused Kennedy Agyapong of being responsible for Nana Akufo-Addo’s defeat in the 2008 and 2012 elections and called on the hierarchy of the party to monitor him to ensure the party wins the 2016 elections.
