Gov't slams Prof. Martey over demeaning comments

Deputy Communication Minister says a government which is making giant strides in all sector of the economy cannot be said to be bereft of wise men.
He said through the able leadership of President John Mahama, the economy is improving steadily towards the realization of the Better Ghana Agenda.
Kwakye Ofosu’s comment on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Monday is a subtle response to Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Emmanuel Martey, who is demanding a new leadership drive for the country.
Speaking at the Foundation stone and dedication of a Church building for the Kwadaso Trinity Congregation in Kumasi, Rev. Martey said the country needs wise men to rule in order to save the nation from its current economic challenges.
He could not fathom why Ghana, which is over fifty years, still does not have a developmental agenda to propel its development.
The only way out, according to Rev. Martey, is for Ghana to get wise men in government to turn our fortunes around.
But Felix Kwakye Ofosu disagrees vehemently with such assertion insisting that, “there are a lot of wise men in government.”
He said though government is not immune to such criticisms, it must be made based on facts.
The Deputy Communications Minister stated that government is undertaking many projects in all sectors of the economy to make life much easier for the citizenry.
