sorry to say that in sierra leone students go to hall with their notes ..all vigilatings of students by teachers are not effected as they aid the students to spy and moreover when students take their regular promotional or 1st or 2nd term exams beleive me the teachers give them passing marks after negotiating with the students a certain high amount in order to pass them to new forms..students can graduate with even knowing how to write a simple correct sentence....waec in sierra leone should try to monitor them especially during the wasce

But the Ghana Education Service said that from grade six(6) to thirty (30)is the cut off point for selection of candidates into various programmes

Please seek clarification before you start insulting "some" people. Yes, The GES needs lots of changes in some areas. The reopening date of 18th or 19th of September 2006 is FOR CONTINUING STUDENTS ie, SSS-2 & SSS-3.
The projected start date for NEW SSS-1 students is around second week in October 2006. Hope this helps to reduce you unwarranted upsurge in your Blood Pressure.
I hope the five weeks interval to get a kid to their school of choice is enough time.
By the way, if a child is expected to pass the BECE, don't you think it behooves the parent to start making financial arragements for their projected 1st, 2nd & 3rd choices before the results are released; basic research and financial planning helps.

For the life of me I don't understand the thinking of "we" black folks. I just read about a couple of days ago that senior secondary school would reopen 18th Sep, yet they just releases the BECE results.

And so, now that the results have been forwarded to Ghana Education Service for use in the Computerised School Selection and Placement Programme, which most definitely would take about a week to process.

My question is how many days would parents and guardians be allowed if their children have been accepted to their 1st choice and if not, whether their wards would get into their second and third choices. Even those who are selected in the 1st choices at least need about a month or even two to look for funding and also gather their stuff they would need for boarding house.

My question then is why are Ghanaian instutitions or agencies are so lacking of customer service, concern for their clients and competence that the people always get the end of the stick? Are these so called officers of WEAC and Ghana Education Service are so idoitic that they don't even have a common sense and palnning?

No exception to the rules and vigilance at the invigilation will do the children good at the end of it all. Those who wait to cheat at the exam room will be disappointed and flushed out and in the end they will suffer for it.

The information that has been released by WAEC is incomplete. We are told that only 62% of the candidates who took the exam obtained aggregates 6 to 30. The story should not have ended there. We need a further disaggregation of the performance of the 62% "successful" candidates. For example how many cabdidates obtained aggregate 8? I was also expecting WAEC to have provided a comparative analysis with previous years. These analyses are needed to provide a better picture of the performance of the JSS system. Come again WAEC.

jss should never be a terminal point of education, every student who completes should be able to continue to sss unless of course he/she decides with her family, he/she can be employed or going to learn a trade. this bulshit of cut off aggregate should be stopped.

The practice where students have their results cancelled based on the whims of WAEC officials is criminal. This cannot be done in any developed country without lawsiuts. It has become a normal practice for our WAEC officials to wreak and derail innocent lives and futures. What we get is dashed and broken dreams of innocent lives. Most of the victims do not recover for from the psychologic trauma. Most are unable to find the funds to go back to school again throwing their futures to the dogs. As a nation, we should this practice.
