Moral Degeneration: Who is to blame?

OUR PREFERENCES

Democracy, an idea foreign to African personlity, is primarily to be blamed.
Seceondly, when power and opportunity face a bypical African/Ghanaian to make choices for life and living, it is no more secret or shameful that foreign frivolities are chosen over the concrete African moral principles. This ATS (acquired tradition syndrom)epidemic has spread through every layer of our society for so long that we are all blinded by it. The local opinionists, Ghanaian merchants, the business community, law-makers of government, government officials who represent our nation outside, and modern Ghanaian travellers are to blamed for the moral degeneration in Ghana. We come to understand that in democratic society, anything goes. Money first, money second, and money third. Political leaders grow to understand that to please the people, do these things: bring in all the junks from overseas, flood the markets with "goods". Let immoral businesses mushroom. Once every one is making money, it is O.k., tomorrow will take care of itself. Pastors do not teach no more. If they do, it is tithes and offerings. Very rich shoddy businessmen hijacked most of our traditional stools. Politicians will say and do and promise any thing to be elected. Foreign media took over civic and parental responsibilities. They are directing and educating our youth. Toddlers are carring guns to day-care schools. Oh! May the Ancestors come quickly to our aid. Let us pray and watch! Ami.

Your article epitomises the forte of a new generation of Ghanaian intellectuals. Criticise, criticise and criticise with minimal sugestions as to how such problems should be solved. About ninety percent of the article is based on perjoration of our system. Honestly, what good does it do us if the countless barracking is accompanied by a modicum of sussestions? Listen Mister, we know the problems. Our morass right now is how to solve the menagerie of problems you and others in your club write about. Next time turn ninety percent of your article into detailing your panacea to our mestastasizing ailments.
Parents squarely to blame
Author: Ankonam
Date: 01-28 20:15

Blame it squarely on the "sex-machine" (borrowed from James Brown) parents. They themselves are clueless how to behave, never mind expecting them to impart discipline to children. The only thing we excel at is to produce babies and more of them, rabbit-like.

The more we produce, no matter whether we are rich or poor, we just don't have the time for them. Our quest for money and material possessions takes priority over everything and consequently, it's the children who suffer.

Fellow Ghanaians, please, lets put our thinking caps on and stop inflicting problems, not only on our selfish selves, but also on the rest of mankind.
BLAME IT ON THE CHURCHES TOO!!

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MORAL DECADENCE AND DEGENERACY IN GHANA
TODAY SHOULD FIRST AND FOREMOST BE ANCHORED AT THE THRESHOLD OF
UNNECESSARY PROLIFERATIONS OF BORN AGAIN EVANGELISTIC CHURCHES.
THE HOLY MESSAIAH JESUS CHRIST ALONE BROUGHT WORLDWIDE CHANGE OF
MORAL & SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION IN THE LIVES OF BILLIONS. YET WE DO
HAVE,INCREDIBLY,TENS OF THOUSAND
PROPHETS,PROPHETESS AND MESSAIAHS.
ALL OF WHOM HAVE DONE SUCCESSFULY WELL IN AMASSING EXCEPTIONALY UNTOLD AMOUNT OF FORTUNE BY MEANS
OF CUNNING FLATTERY WTTHOUT THE
LEAST CONSIDERATION TO THE MORALY
DESPICABLE & UNCONVENTIONAL DRESS
CODE APPEARANCES. AS A RESULT THERE ARE NO MORE DISTINCTIONS AMONG DEVOTED CHURCH MEMBERS AND
NAKED HOOKERS ACROSS THE STREET.
ANOTHER FACTOR TO THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY INCLUDES THE RECKLESS IMITATION OF THE SHAMELESS WAY & MANNER THESE OVERSEAS GHANAIAN RESIDENTS DRESSED ANYTIME THEY RETURNED HOME. ITS SO DEPLORABLE AND STRANGE TO OBSERVE THE LOOK &
GLAMOURIZATION OF THIS LOW DOWN
FASHION UNDER THE CLOAK OF STYLE & MODERNITY! I REMEMBER A LITTLE
WHILE BACK IT WAS DISGRACEFUL FOR
A GHANAIAN WOMAN TO PUT ON LONG
PANTS OR TROUSERS LEST HER HUMPUY
DUMPY HIPS BUTTS BE EXPOSED TO THE ANYMAN TO LOOK AT. ONLY LADIES WHO RETURNED FROM ABROAD
DRESSED IN TROUSERS EVEN THOUGH
MOST OF THOSE LADIES WERE HOOKERS
BUT WHO CARED.
TODAY,MANY OF THIS BABTISTS & EVANGELISTIC PREACHERS DRESSED SO COMFORTABLY LIKE GYANTERAS WITH THIER PROTRUDING BOSSOMS AND
HUMPPY-DUMPPY HIPS & DILAPIDATED
BRICK HOUSE BUTTS TIGHTLY PIERCIN
AROUND THIER WAIST TO ATTRACT MORE MORALLY DECADENT TO THIER CHURCH BUSINESS.
FURTHERMORE MORAL DISCIPLINE IS BREAKING DOWN IN OUR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS EVERYWHERE.PUBLIC &
GOVERNMENT WORK PLACES HAVE TURN TO PLATTFORMS OF ADULTRY & FLATS
FOR INCESSANT FORNICATION.THE MUCH HIGHER EDUCTIONAL INSTITUTES
SUCH AS COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES ARE NOW PLACES OF ABJECT SEXUAL
PROMISCUITY.EVEN INSIDE CHURCHES
ARE OF NO EXCEPTION.HENCE THE NEED AND NECESSITY FOR THE JESUS
CHRIST TO EXPOSE THESE INNEQUITY
BEING RAMPANTLY COMMITTED EVERY
WHERE AND RE-ESTABLISH DECENCY AND JUST LIFE ON EARTH AS THE HOLY SCRIPTURES APTLY & TERSELY EPITOMISES!!!

LEADERSHIP

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach. Our leaders have let the country down big time, by allowing lawlessness, not setting good examples themselves. The whole country is in a mess.

You may be right at this point but you failed to know that we live in a nwe world. We live in a world that is not closed but realy opened, and no part of the world can close itself from the other.

I for one agree with you on all the points raised but what i am saying you failed to know that we live in an open world is our society has been sleeping for long and it's too late to change things but only hope that with time it will get well.

One thing you must know is if you realy go into the good homes you will not see the children act as you mostly see in the street. There may be some but not many i mean.

You must know that we as a people live in a society where mama or dady is even not working in the first place, and if they are can't make ends meet because of our old systm of extended family and all the troubles.

This means control in the system is totaly broken and it's up to society to stand up and face facts to be able to fight this evil some of you think it is.

When one is able to take care of it's off speing there is no way that person can't controle the child.

Moral degeneration is and can only be fought if parents can be realy parents in the first place. This can come about if they have work to do to be able to take care of thier off springs. this is the responsbilty of society as a whole.

By the way keep on writing for you are one of the best i have read up till now on this page.

Blame the religious Bodies

If our pastors continue to see nothing wrong with women half-nicked who worship with them, then.... It a matter of adhering to religious ethics.
I always like Voltarian and Northern Women, because they are modest.I wish I could get for life partner. Good call Sammy.

Excellent piece, Sammy,
We seem to copy blindly every evil thing that happens in the western world. Unfortunately we do not pick anything from the good things that make western societies move forward.

Just listen to this idiotic "Obruni" paedophile. He cannot do that to young school girls in Belgium without falling foul of the law, but he does it to young Ghanaian girls for pittance. And some people call this kind of behaviour modernity. They believe "they have arrived." The future is bleak, unless we do something about the situation.
Cry the beloved country!
Good day and God bless.
Sign of the times

There is no such thing as moral degeneration, in my opinion it could be easily seen as a projection of or a composition of the sign of modern times. And every previous generation it seems, think quite lowly of the current, hence this bullshit self righteousness by our elders.

We all have a history of immorality at some point in our lives.

Ghana girls are fashionable

I like the way Ghana girls dress because they look very sexy and beautiful when I visit Ghana. I come from Belgium but I love Ghana more than Belgium since I came to Ghana in 1999 and I get chance to make friends with beautiful Ghana girls who come to my hotel room at Frankie's for sex fun and I help with their education money to buy books and other things. I am coming to Ghana again in May and if you have a sister or daughter who needs some money, please let me know so that I can teach her the joy of assfucking. In my experience, most Ghana girls don't try anal sex before but once I teach them, they love it. They say obruni dick in their asshole for the first time make them very happy.
