The Executive Director for the Alliance for Christian Advocacy Africa, Rev Dr Kwaabena Opuni-Frimpong, has warned politicians against the shedding of blood in a bid to win the 2020 polls.

He stressed that allowing the youth to indulge in vices and chaos during the election period just to become President or a Member of Parliament is not the way to go.

Admonishing sitting president Nana Akufo-Addo and former president Mahama, Dr Opuni-Frimpong called for peaceful elections adding;

“…Nana Addo and former President Mahama, your Excellencies when you want to govern this country, if you want to dress white-white after the election and go to Church, go to church in the name of honesty that you have won this election in truth, in honesty and fairness.”

The former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana added, “Don’t manipulate this election and wear white-white and go to Church. God will not respect your thanksgiving. Don’t let any single blood; a Ghanaian youth’s blood drop for you to become president.”

According to Dr Opuni-Frimpong both Akufo-Addo and Mahama must accept the responsibility must ensure peace in their effort to rule this country stating that they must not rule Ghana on the back of violence, the bloodshed of innocent young people.

He added that their supporters, largely young people, have great admiration for them hence the two gentlemen of the country must protect.

“Nobody should be meme for you to become president. Let’s trust you and let God accept your praise.”

Admonishing MPs he advised that they desist from mobilizing young party supporters and use them for violent acts as these candidates should protect them like they protect their own.

“Don’t mobilize people let them be memed, stoned, lose their lives for you to become Member of Parliament. It’s a disgrace. When we call you honourable when in fact you are dishonourable. Ghanaian youth love you but protect them as you protect your own.” He noted in an interview.
