Former Minister for the Central Region, Kwamena Duncan, has cautioned the Ghanaian electorate against voting for former President and leader of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, during the December polls.

According to the former minister, Mr. Mahama doesn't deserve to come back into power, considering his past records.

He cited some unkind treatments that Mahama meted out to residents in his hometown while he was President and wondered how his return to power would make any significant change.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' show, Kwamena Duncan narrated how Mr. Mahama, as Vice President under the Mills regime and President from 2012 to 2016, neglected his hometown in the sharing of the national cake.

“He couldn’t even say that, look, at least I must refurbish my own King’s palace; 12 years, first and foremost as Member of Parliament. It took Bawumia to go there to put that palace in shape. Also, just recently, about 2/3 weeks ago, Bawumia promised to give Bole an astro-turf, and preparations are underway to get the astro-turf done in Bole. Only then did we hear former President Mahama say he too wants to make a contribution for an astro-turf there," he said.

He admonished Ghanaians not to make what he believes is a mistake by making Mahama President again.

"Someone, his own backyard, first and foremost as a whole enclave, as a whole big portion of our country where he came from, he failed them abysmally. Narrow it down, zoom in to his constituency, he fails to do these very petty, petty small things, and it takes another person to go there, and after the person has gone there, he (Mahama) also decides to help. Then you say that you are going to the polls to cast your ballot for a person like this?"

He exclaimed, "This country must reject him in all his forms and in all his manners!"
