The Tema East Constituency Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nene Ofoe Teye-Chu Agbadiagba lV, has urged Ghanaians to snub former President John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the 2024 election.

In an interview with journalists at Tema New Town on Sunday, he explained that John Mahama whom Ghanaians massively rejected in 2016 and 2020 is the same John Mahama who has repackaged himself as a redeemer to hoodwink the people for their votes.

“The value is the same; yesterday’s John Mahama is the same John Mahama of today; nothing has changed,” Nene Agbadiagba said.

According to him, if Ghanaians vote for him, he is going to lead in the same flawed character that made Ghanaians reject him in 2016 and 2020.

“It is the same dead goat syndrome, the same incompetence, the same awkwardness, and the same lack of bold decision and creative thinking; nothing has changed,” he added.

Nene was speaking to journalists at Tema New Town after he had returned from South Africa on an official trip of GPHA.

"The John Mahama of today is the same as the John Mahama of 2016. If Ghanaians vote for him, they will be setting the country back."

“We have already heard him say he will do a reset of the country; do you know what that means? It means he wants to circle the country back to square one. In this modern world, who talks like that if not somebody who is looking to retard progress?” he said.

Nene therefore urged Ghanaians to snub the former President whenever he holds rallies and campaigns for votes.

“He has proposed the 24-hour economy, but he and the NDC have failed to properly explain what that means. He has failed to give us proper working examples, and he has also refused to debate his most formidable opponent, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. What all of these show is that this man is not willing to be open with Ghanaians,” Nene said.

According to him, “Anybody wanting to be president but not willing to face scrutiny by the Ghanaian people should be shunned like a disease.”
