3-year-old girl defiled by a 38-year-old fufu pounder denied justice

The mother of a 3-year-old defiled girl, Dora Amakye, is seeking justice for her daughter who has been sexually abused by a 38-year-old man identified as Akwesi who is currently on the run. Several efforts by the mother to get the Police to act on the case have proved futile.

Narrating her ordeal to GHOne’s news reporter, Evelyn Araba Adu, the mother of the defiled girl recounted how she noticed some changes in the steps of her daughter and upon interrogation little Dora narrated how the 38-year-old “fufu pounder” who works at an eatery with her mother had inserted his fingers and penis into her vagina.

The Police officers handling the case have shown lack of interest as the perpetrator of this inhuman act has still not been brought to book from October when the incident occurred.

According to the mother of the defiled girl, the police insisted that she produce the suspect before they can proceed with the investigation. The desperate mother after police denial sought assistance from the Child Rights International and Nhyiramma Foundation which are a non-governmental organization committed to the protection of child rights.

Chief Executive Officer of Nhyiramma Foundation, Agness Tutuwaa who is also seeking justice for young Dora lamented on the failure of the Madina Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit and Police who from October to date failed to arrest the suspect.

“The security system, the Police, the DOVVSU, they’ve not been fair to the woman. I personally took the number of the lady handling the case, I called her and she told me, “do I want her to go and look for the boy and arrest him…that was not her job”.

The medical report also proved that the hymen of the young girl had been broken with her vagina terribly stretched. To date, the young girl still battles pain in her vagina after being defiled on three occasions by the man. Her mother also recalled that there was ‘smelly’ discharge from her daughter’s vagina.

The culprit, Akwesi, admitted to the husband of the eatery owner that he abused the little girl on three occasions. Dora’s mother was attacked and sacked by her employer for reporting the case to the police. The victim's mother added that the woman who owns the eatery knows the whereabouts of the culprit and is calling for her arrest in other to get to him.
