Sudanese giants Al Merreikh have written to FIFA to clarify Samuel Inkoom's status before handing the former Ghana defender a deal.
In June this year, FIFA announced Inkoom had been handed a one-year transfer ban for an outstanding amount owed to his former agent Any Evans.
The right-back has reached an agreement with the Red Castle after arriving in the north African country early this month.
But Al Merreikh want to get the green light from FIFA before stitching up a deal with the former Ghana international.
Inkoom last played for Bulgarian side FC Vereya.
