Ambassador Salamu Amadu joins Dangote, Peter Obi, others at historic Nigerian wedding

The President and Founder of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Ambassador Salamu Amadu, joined renowned African business magnate Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass, and Deputy President of the Senate Senator Barau Jibrin to attend the wedding of the children of Emirs of Kano and Bichi, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, respectively, on Friday in Nigeria.

Ambassador Salamu Amadu expressed his excitement to be among the dignitaries for the historic wedding in an interview, extending his wishes and congratulations to the newly wedded couples.

Other dignitaries at the event, held at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, Kano, included Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections Peter Obi, former governor of Kano State Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, among others.

The wedding ceremony united Sanusi Aminu Bayero (Khalifa) and Rumanah Nasir Bayero (Ummi), according to a statement by the Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to the Deputy Senate Ismail Mudashir in Abuja.

Deputy Governor of Kano State Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam and Dan Iyan Kano Alhaji Ahmad Ado Bayero stood as representatives of the groom and bride, respectively.

Emirs Aminu Ado Bayero and Nasiru Ado Bayero are highly respected traditional rulers in Nigeria, known for their commitment to the development and preservation of Kano's rich cultural heritage. They hold influential positions within the Kano Emirate Council and are revered by the people of Kano for their leadership and dedication to serving their community.

During the event, Emir Nasiru of Bichi expressed gratitude to Ambassador Salamu Amadu for leaving his busy schedule to attend the wedding, referring to him as his Godson. He praised Ambassador Salamu as the next big thing to happen to Africa, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit and acknowledging that his impact extends beyond Ghana to the entire continent.

Akpabio and Hon. Abbas congratulated the emirs and wished the newlywed couple marital bliss.

The Deputy President of the Senate described the wedding as historic, offering prayers for the couple's blessed marriage, the family, Kano Emirate, and the country.

In their separate responses, the emirs of Kano and Bichi thanked the leadership of the National Assembly and others for gracing the occasion, while also praying for peace, unity, and progress of the country.
