Michael began PHG as a voluntary organisation a few years ago, when he joined a team of Volunteers to Rural-Urban Communities in Ghana, and seeing people reporting late for clinical treatment on what is termed "preventable blindness" or a number of avoidable deaths; the task was more of preventive care.
