Ghanaian actress, writer, and producer Lydia Forson has observed that talks about the robustness of the Ghanaian economy by politicians is not what she looks at when she’s judging how well a country is doing.

There has been arguments between the country’s two leading political parties, the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) about who has managed the economy better and who needs to be handed the opportunity to do more.

These arguments have basically centered around who has managed the economy better during crisis taking the Ebola crises and the current novel Coronavirus pandemic as a base.

But to Lydia Forson, how a country is doing well is measured by how well the masses are being provided with the needed amenities to survive.

To her, the big talks and grammar about the economy and how well it is being managed amounts to nothing if the masses are struggling to make ends meet.

Lydia Forson said “I will always measure how well a country is doing based on the basic amenities the citizens have access to. This whole economy economy talk means nothing to me if a majority of the population are struggling. Call me a dreamer , but it’s the world I want to live in”.
