CSE: Generation of vampires trying to destroy our children – Pentecostal Council

The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has described advocates of Comprehensive Sexuality Education( CSE) as “a perverse generation of vampires scheming to destroy us”, urging all stakeholders to reject it outright so that government moves from merely suspending its planned implementation to dropping the idea altogether.

The Faith-Based Organisation which is an umbrella body of over 200 Pentecostal and Charismatic Christian church denominations and para-church organizations in Ghana, which has been very vocal in their opposition to the CSE, has commended the government on its decision to suspend the implementation but demand that there should be an assurance of a complete withdrawal of the policy and a promise that it will never be introduced in the very near future.

“While acknowledging government’s latest statement and assurance of non-implementation of the policy in the next academic year, we wish to reiterate that anything short of an assurance of complete withdrawal of the policy and a promise never to introduce it in the very near future, will not be accepted,” the statement read in part.

It then blames external interest groups that are keen to dilute our long tested traditional values on sexuality and allow the introduction of any demonic policies through CSE, enjoining all Ghanaians to be vigilant and expose any attempts to “smuggle” CSE into the curriculum for pupils.

Meanwhile, Government has insisted that there are no plans to implement CSE in Ghana even though there appears to be documentary evidence to the contrary in the 2019 Budget and in the curriculum for basic schools.

Government argues that there is no such plan.
