Daasebre Osei Bonsu II was a beacon of hope, father and mentor - Dr Amoakohene

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has paid tribute to the late Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, describing him as a beacon of hope, a father, and a mentor.

In a post shared on his X page on Monday, May 5, 2025, Dr Amoakohene praised the late Paramount Chief as a man of great wisdom and humility.

“I returned home to mourn with the Mampong Hemaa, the Traditional Council, and the wife of the late Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, our beloved Nana Mamponghene, who recently joined the ancestors,” he wrote.

“His passing is a heavy blow. He was a beacon of hope, a father, an uncle, and a mentor to myself and many others. A true pillar of our community has fallen. His wisdom, humility, and leadership will be deeply missed,” he added.

The Bretuo family and the Asante Mampong Traditional Council have officially informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, of the passing of the Paramount Chief of the Asante-Mampong Traditional Area.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II passed away at the age of 86.
