The Member of Parliament for Yapei/Kusawgu, John Jinapor, says he will raise the issue of the existence of the pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) militia group known as 'De-Eye' in Parliament ‘to make sure the right thing is done’.

An investigation conducted by journalist Manasseh Azure indicates that 'De-Eye' allegedly gives training to men and women and it’s headquartered at Osu Castle in Accra, which used to be the seat of government.

Commenting on this during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, John Jinapor asked government to speak to this, 'especially in our current dispensation' where many individuals and groups are waging a war against vigilantism in the country.

“It’s a bit disturbing . . . why would they use the seat of government for those activities? It’s a security installation. I hope government will respond to this very unfortunate incident. If we want to provide them with employment, give them something else to do but don’t put them in our security.

"We are all campaigning against vigilantism and to know that a private firm is operating in a security installation? What are they doing there; they have no business in that place . . . Some of us won’t sit aloof . . . ,” he fumed.
