Dr. Daniel Wubah appointed 15th President of Millersville University

The Ghana Permanent Mission in New York was represented by H.E. Martha Pobee, Ambassador and Permanent Representative at the Presidential Inauguration of Daniel A. Wubah, a Ghanaian microbiologist as the 15th President of Millersville University, Pennsylvania, USA on April 18th, 2019.

Millersville University was founded in 1855 and has the distinction of being Pennsylvania’s first state-owned university. It offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programmes in Education and Human Services; Science and Technology; Humanities and Social Sciences and Adult Learning.

Prior to his appointment as President of the University, Dr. Wubah served as Provost and later as Senior Adviser to the President to the Washington and Lee University. Dr. Wubah graduated at the University of Cape Coast with a B.Sc. Hons in Botany and Dip.Ed. in Education and earned his M.Sc. in Biology from the University of Akron, Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Georgia.

In private life, Dr Wubah, also known as Nana Ofosu Peko III is Safohene at Breman Asikuma in the Central Region of Ghana.

The colourful and festive investiture ceremony, held on the quad of Millersville University, was very well attended. A large number of friends and family from Ghana, beautifully attired in Kente cloth, included the traditional leaders of Breman Asikuma, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and Old Boys of Accra Academy Secondary School.

Once again, Ghana is proud to have one of her illustrious sons appointed to a position of eminence here in the United States of America. The Ghana Permanent Mission and Consulate-General wish Dr. Wubah every success in his new appointment.
