Although Shatta Wale and the Communications Minister insists no artiste was paid to perform at the launch of the COVID-19 App, National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) Dzifa Gunu insisst the Dancehall King took Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS100,000).

Shatta Wale and some other artistes on Monday performed at a virtual concert to launch the COVID-19 app tracker for contact tracing of prospective victims.

The Communications Minister and Shatta Wale himself have insisted that government did not pay for their services because they did it in support of the country as the fights against the deadly COVID-19 intensifies.

But in a tweet insisting that Shatta Wale took 100k for the performance, Dzifa Gunu said “Dear @shattawalegh ,no doubt about your musical talents, but bro do you sincerely think that that concert was necessary?”

He described Shatta Wale a insensitive because if he thought about the people who claims to be representing, he would not have even agreed to perform at the launch of an Application which is obsolete.

He said “The people in the Ghettos are starving and #COVID-19 is fast spreading there and you go take 100k to sing for an APP that is useless? Maaaaasa”.

The Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Communication launched an Application which will be used in the enhanced contact tracing.

At the launch, various artistes performed as an act of entertaining Ghanaians who have had to stay home because of the rise in numbers of the deadly Coronavirus.
