The death of fast rising Ghanaian dancehall artiste Ebony, has resurrected the late Ghanaian actress, Suzzy Maleki Williams, who died 12 years ago while returning from a movie set in Accra.

Ebony died Thursday night in a motor accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway while returning to Accra after visiting her mother in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Just like Suzzy Williams, the 20-year-old Ebony died at a period her young musical career was soaring with back-to-back hits.

Suzzy Williams who endeared the hearts of hundreds of people with her acting skills, died at the age of 23 on September 8, 2005 on the main La—Teshie Nungua highway while returning home from a movie set.

Both Suzzy Williams and Ebony died at their prime in their careers at a younger age, and in a motor accident; something that has triggered Ghanaians on social media to wonder why young showbiz personalities in their prime were dying from road accidents.

The case was no different with the popular Ghanaian hip life artiste, Terry Bonchaka, who died in road accident at Legon in Accra on October 30, 2003 while returning from a musical show at the University of Ghana.

When news broke Friday about the death of Ebony, people started issuing condolences on Twitter and Facebook in which some questioned why a couple of young Ghanaian showbiz personalities have died in road accidents while in their prime.

Within 12 hours, Suzzy Williams had entered Twitter trends in Ghana at the fourth spot with over 5,000 tweets about her while Ebony was number one with over 95,000 tweets.
