Former Minister for Central Region, Kwamena Duncan has called on former President John Dramani Mahama not to run away from the challenge to engage in a debate with Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has thrown the gauntlet to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, to come face-to-face with him to set straight their track records to the citizenry, aimed at informing the electorates' decision on who to vote for during the December 7 elections.

“I am looking forward to a debate with John Mahama on the economy, on the country on the governance.”

“But I am afraid that he is running away from a debate. His people say he doesn’t want to debate. I have never heard an opposition leader who doesn’t want to debate. But he knows I will expose the emptiness of his policies,” Dr. Bawumia said while addressing thousands of his supporters in Bunkpurugu, North East Region.

Reacting to the issue on Peace FM's flagship show "Kokrokoo", Kwamena Duncan implored Ghanaians to mount pressure on John Mahama to accept the challenge.

"Everyone, every good Ghanaian citizen must call on the former President; present yourself," he exclaimed.

He believed the debate will clarify matters to the citizenry to make the right choice during the presidential elections.
