Experienced football administrator, Harry Zakkour has made a call to Ghanaians to be patient with the new head coach for the Black Stars, Charles Akonnor.
Akonnor, a former attacker and captain for the senior national team was named as the new coach for the team in January 2020.
Having replaced Coach James Kwasi Appiah, he is expected to guide Ghana to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title.
With a lot of pressure on the gaffer to deliver, Harry Zakkour has asked Ghanaians to be patient with Charles Akonnor.
“You know he has coached Hearts of Oak before, he has coached Goldfields before, and he has coached Kotoko before.
"You see, we don't have patience. When a coach loses one or two, three matches in this country they want to fire him.
“We should give him time. Football is not like before”, the former Hearts of Oak chairman said while speaking to GTV Sports Plus.
