The Vice President-elect, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has entreated all Ghanaians to share in the thanksgiving, goodwill, and renewal that come with the commemoration of the birth of Christ during the Christmas festivities.
In a short address shared via her social media pages, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also urged all Ghanaians to extend goodwill towards one another.
“I wish everyone a very good season. This is the season for thanksgiving, for sharing, the renewal of bonds, and goodwill. My prayer is that we all extend the goodwill that is marked by the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ unto all men and unto all women too. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” she stated.
Ghanaians are heading into the 2024 Christmas festivities after having elected the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, and his running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, as president and vice president-elect in the December 7 general elections.
The result of the election makes Prof. Opoku-Agyemang the first-ever female vice president-elect in the history of Ghana, and she will become the first female vice president following the presidential inauguration fixed for January 7, 2025.
