Alanyo Anku, 19, a farmer, resident at Adaklu Sokpe has appeared before a court for robbing one Albert Agudevi, also a farmer at Adaklu Asiedukope, of his motorbike valued at Ghc3,500.00.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Stephen Atidzon, told the court presided over by Mrs Pricilla Dikro Ofori that on August 21, 2018, at about 1830 hours, the complainant was on his motorbike with registration number M-VR-3205-17 to Mati Aziekpe to buy fuel.

The prosecution said at a section of the road near Adaklu Nukpotoe, Anku stopped the complainant and asked him to take him to Adaklu Ahunda.

He said on their way, Anku sprayed powered pepper into the eyes of the complainant, blinding him momentarily.

The prosecution said Anku then attacked the complainant, overpowered him and took away his motorbike.

The prosecution said the victim who sustained injury, later reported the case to the police on August 22, 2018 and said he could identify his assailant on sight.

He said upon tipping off, the accused was arrested and was identified by the complainant as the perpetrator of the crime.

The prosecution said further investigation led to the arrest of one Anas Kwame, farmer, and resident of Adaklu Kpatove, who bought the stolen motorbike from Anku and it was thus recovered from him.

He said in a cautioned statement, Anku denied robbing the plaintiff, however Kwame insisted that the recovered motorbike was sold to him by Anku at a cost of GHC2,000.00 but on agreement that he work and pay GHC50.00 a week.
