Rebecca Osam, CEO of Reflo Company Ltd, joined hands with The Florence Mensah Foundation to address the pressing issue of period poverty in Ghana. In a press statement delivered today, Rebecca highlighted the collaborative efforts between Reflo Company Ltd and The Florence Mensah Foundation in empowering women and young girls, particularly in combating period poverty.

The Florence Mensah Foundation, established in 2022, focuses on championing human rights, promoting gender equality, and eliminating discrimination and violence against women in Ghana. Through collaborations with Reflo Company Ltd, the foundation has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at improving menstrual hygiene and health among underprivileged women in marginalised communities.

The latest initiative, titled "Helping a 1000 Girls Embrace Their Flow," is set to launch on March 15, 2024, at the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Accra, Ghana. The event, starting at 10:00 AM, will bring together notable guests, Members of Parliament, CEOs of businesses, CEOs of other NGOs, partners, and stakeholders to support the cause.

The primary goal of the initiative is to raise awareness about period poverty and mobilise funds to provide sanitary pads to 1000 impoverished young girls across Ghana for a whole year. The Florence Mensah Foundation urges individuals and organisations to contribute to this noble cause, emphasising that a donation of 144 cedis will cover the cost of providing sanitary pads to one girl for an entire year.

Donations can be made via mobile money to the number 0598871395 under the name ‘The Florence Mensah Foundation’. The funds raised will enable these vulnerable girls to manage their menstrual health with dignity, thereby removing a significant barrier to pursuing their dreams.

Rebecca Osam, CEO of Reflo Company Ltd, expressed her appeal to the public, saying, "We invite individuals and organisations to join us in making a difference in the lives of these vulnerable girls. Your support will not only empower them but also contribute to building a more equitable and inclusive society for all."

The Florence Mensah Foundation and Reflo Company Ltd are open to discussing partnership opportunities and other forms of assistance to ensure the success and sustainability of the "Helping a 1000 Girls Embrace Their Flow" project.
