Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah hopes the Black Stars will recover from their defeat to Egypt ahead of Sunday’s quarterfinal clash against DR Congo.
Ghana tasted yet another defeat at the hands of Egypt after losing 1-0 to the Pharaohs.
The Black Stars will now take on DR Congo in their next fixture as they seek to secure a place in the semi-finals.
Appiah is urging the team to put their pieces together ahead of their crucial game against Congo on Sunday.
“For now we lost and it is important we put it behind us and move forward, we have Congo to play in our next game and we should focus on that game,” he said on GHone TV.
“The Congolese are a strong side and we should understand we have a tough hurdle ahead.
“So the players should just forget about the defeat to Egypt and think ahead of the next game.”
Ghana must beat Congo to keep their dreams of ending the 34 year wait of an AFCON trophy alive.
