Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie is thanking God for finally “exposing the corrupt nature of President John Mahama”.
According to him, the latest exposé corroborates the NPP’s claim that the Mahama-led administration is "corruption personified".
President Mahama has received a barrage of attacks after it emerged that he was given a brand new Ford Expedition in 2012 by the contractor who won the bid to construct the $650,000 Ghana Embassy Wall in the Burkina Faso capital, Ouagadougou.
Joy News’ Manasseh Azure Awuni who travelled to Burkina Faso to meet the contractor reports that he admitted giving the car to the president but insists it is not a bribe.
Government in a statement maintained that the car had nothing to do with the contract awarded to Djibril Kanazoe.
However, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie in an interview on Adom New Wednesday opined that, President Mahama has brought endless shame on Ghana.
“You [Mahama] are being fed and clothed by Ghanaians so why do you accept a car bribe from a foreigner,” he quizzed.
Sir John as he is popularly called said the President risk being hauled to Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) if he fails to resign over this “shameful act”.
“A president would have resigned after this exposé but here in Ghana, we have thrown humiliation to the dogs,” he stated.
The former NPP scribe called on Ghanaians to show the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) the exit in the November poll “before they sell us”.
