Gyan shocks Fenerbahce with late equaliser in 3-3 draw
Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan came off the bench to score a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser for Kayserispor against Fenerbahce in an entertaining 3-3 draw on Monday night.
Gyan replaced Ryan Mendes in the 73rd minute with his side trailing 3-2 but a close-range header secured a valuable point for his side at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadi.
The teams went in level at the halftime break after Umut Bulut's 41st-minute strike for Kayserispor was cancelled out by a 45th-minute strike by Ozan Tufan off a Mathieu Valbuena assist.
Fenerbahce were relentless after the break and grabbed just reward courtesy goals by Roman Neustaedter and Souza in the 50th and 62nd minutes respectively.
Kayserispor fought back and intense pressure of the Fenerbahce defence resulted in an own-goal by Neto before Gyan stole the headlines with the late-winner.
The draw moves Kayserispor into fourth place on the Turkish Super Lig standings on 18 points - five behind leaders Galatasaray - after 10 games. Former league champions Fenerbahce trail behind them in eighth place with 16 points.
