His mandate as a minister will not only inure to the benefit of members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), it will cover all members of the region from all parties equally, Regional minister-designate for the Oti Region, Kwasi Owusu-Yeboa has said.
Speaking before members of Parliament's appointments committee Friday, Mr. Owusu-Yeboa pledged to met out his responsibilities to all residents within his region without fear or favour.
His comments were in response to questions raised about measures he will put in place to deal with the issue of unemployment among his people.
Party affiliation, he maintained, should not be the determinant of any leader's responsibilities for which reason he will follow due process to address the needs of all persons in the region to ensure fairness and development.
"I'm a minister not for the NPP alone. People will line up not only party people but everybody and so that won't be a problem," he said.
The former Volta regional Minister further expressed optimism about development in the area with proper mobilisation of requisite resources.
Mr. Owusu-Yeboa appeared before the appointments committee Friday March 15, 2019 to be vetted for the position of Oti Region Minister.
The Oti region is one of six regions created in December 2018. The regions were created through referendum and capitals named subsequently by the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Dambai is the capital of the region.
