Joy FM’s Investigative Journalist, Manasseh Azuri Awuni has for the first time in about a month spoken about his investigative report on an alleged militia group, De-Eye Group which was said to be training at the Osu Castle attracting a lawsuit from the company.

The Journalist who is not in the country according to what MyNewsGh.com has gathered disclosed that he is not running away from lawsuits of the group as reported by a section of the media.

An Accra High Court last week granted an application by lawyers for De Eye Group, for Manasseh Awuni Azure to be served by substitution after bailiffs claimed they failed to serve him with the writ of summons suggesting he may have evaded service on those number of occasions.

But in a post reacting to the claims, he explained “I have read media reports in which lawyers for De-Eye Group asked the court to allow for substituted service because they cannot find me to serve me the writ of summons and the statement of claim. The impression is being created that I’m running away from the suit. That’s not the case. They served writ of summons and statement of claim on the Multimedia Group. They sued Multimedia and me as joint defendants. We have the same lawyer and since it’s the same case, we filed a joint entry of appearance and defence. They still went to court to insist they want to serve me my copy of the writ personally. So now I will wait for them to post a copy at the places they have asked to be allowed to post copies for same to come to my attention before I ask my lawyers to refile my entry of appearance and defence”
