I stand by my statement – Gyedu Blay Ambolley insists

Veteran musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley has stated that he stands by his earlier statement, that former MUSIGA president Bice Osei Kuffour gave monies to people who were close to him during his tenure as president of the association in a form of a loan, but those who benefited didn’t payback.

He made this statement when Ghanaweb reached him for a comment on the allegations he made against Obour, Okyeame Kwame, Ben Brako and a host of other musicians.

“When the accountability is made on the two million Cedis that the government gave to creative arts that ended into the hands of Musiga we will see openly those that benefited from the two million Cedis. I stand by my statement”, he said in a text message to Ghanaweb.

Okyeame Kwame threatens legal suit

Okyeame Kwame through his lawyers Bobby Banson ESQ FCIArb of Smith & Adelaide legal firm gave Ambolley a 72-hour ultimatum to either retract his statement or risk being sued.

Ambolley stated categorically on 3FM that he has evidence that former president of Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice Osei Kuffuor (Obour) gave Okyeame Kwame and other friends of his GHC 50,000 each from the GHC 2m budget money which was given to the union by the government in 2012.

"All these are on paper. They are all there. When the time comes, let them come and challenge me and everything will come out," he vehemently stated.

Many people were hopeful he would retract and apologise for the allegations he made after he stated in a separate interview that he needed a week to apologise but per the statement sent to Ghanaweb that would not be coming any time soon
