Jordan Ayew in Leicester, Liverpool’s hit list

English giants Liverpool and Leicester City are reported to be weighing up a chance to sign Ghana international, Jordan Ayew, from Swansea City after their relegation from the Premier League.

Ayew has been linked to a number clubs after Swansea were relegated to the English Championship, with Scottish giants Celtic also reported to contemplating a bid for the Ghanaian striker.

After trading their Algerian star Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City for £60m, former Premiership champions Leicester are looking for a suitable replacement for their prized asset and have targeted 26-year-old Ayew whom the club see as having the right qualities to replace their prized asset.

Ayew’s stock rose last season after an impressive display for Swansea in their Premiership last season which saw him scoring 11 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions. He was appropriately crowned Swansea’s Player of the Season even though his rich vein of form could not secure the Welsh side from relegation.

Reports in England suggests that the Swans are keen on releasing their top earners and the sale of Ayew could be used to raise £12m for the club. Despite reports that Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp is considering closing the door on any more acquisition after the signing of Brazilian goalie, Alisson Becker, the Daily Mirror has indicated that the Anfield side could snap Ayew as their final signing ahead of the upcoming season.

There are suggestions also that, Ayew’s elder brother and Swansea teammate Andre, could be on his way out of the Welsh club following interests shown by Newcastle United and Turkish side Besiktas to sign him.

Since his return to Swansea from West Ham United midway into last season, Andre has struggled to make any significant impact on the team, making just 12 appearances without a goal and would be looking to a move away from the Liberty stadium to help revive his career.
