Kumasi market women throw support behind Nana Nkansah Boadu in Council of State bid

The bid by Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the popular and affable Chief of Agric Nzemaa in Kumasi, for the Ashanti Regional membership of the Council of State has received an overwhelming endorsement from market women in Kumasi.

In a heartfelt display of solidarity, a group of dedicated market women visited the palace of the Agric Nzemaa Chief in Kumasi on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, to express their unwavering support for his bid to secure a position as a representative of the Ashanti Region on the Council of State.

The gathering, filled with excitement and purpose, underscored the strong connection between the influential traditional leader and the region's grassroots support.

Arriving at the palace with arms full of contributions, the market women brought an array of food items to encourage the chief's campaign.

The sight of colourful packs brimming with local produce symbolised their support and the vital role the market women play in the region's economy and community life.

As they presented their offerings, the group leaders spoke passionately about the chief's commitment to empowering local traders and advocating for the needs of the Ashanti people.

The women noted that they believe in the vision of Nana Nkansah Boadu as a man of wisdom and integrity who can bring his experience in traditional leadership to bear on governance and democracy in the country.

A solemn-looking Nana Nkansah Boadu, who was visibly touched by the initiative and the support, expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people of the Ashanti Region.

He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in driving meaningful change and ensuring that the voices of everyday citizens are heard at the Council table.
