The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged fellow Muslims to take the unique opportunity of the sacred month of Ramadan and pray fervently to the Almighty Allah.
Addressing members of the Zongo Community of Kwamekrom in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region during the first leg of his 2019 Ramadan tour, Dr Bawumia reminded Muslims that the month of Ramadan comes with immense blessings and that it is a month which the Almighty Allah listens to His servants’ cry.
“As we Muslims believe strongly, this is a blessed month for us where the Almighty Allah listens to our prayers. So let us make good use of this blessed month and pray for ourselves,” Dr Bawumia urged.
“Let us also use the opportunity of Ramadan to pray for our dear country, for more blessings and prosperity.
“Ghana is blessed with mineral resources such as gold, cocoa, bauxite, oil, etc. Allah has also blessed our country with peace; Muslims live peacefully with our Christian brothers. Let us pray during this Ramadan so that Allah will continue to give us more of such blessings,” Dr Bawumia added.
The annual Ramadan tour is an innovation by the Vice President which he goes around the country to interact with the Muslim community during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
During the tour, he makes stopovers at various communities, where he joins them for congregational prayers, as well as joins them for iftar to break the fast at sunset.
He kicked off the first leg of the tour yesterday in Dambai, capital of the newly created Oti Region
