A 61-year-old man and his girlfriend have died mysteriously at Sekyere Beposo in the Ashanti Region, allegedly from a curse invoked from the dreaded Antoa deity by an aggrieved wife.
The man, Kwaku Akyea is married to a fetish priest, Konfo Gyaama, but recently begun a relationship with Sarah Serwaa Bonsu, 56.
Reports from Nhyira FM in Kumasi say the fetish priest warned both her husband and his girlfriend to stop their illicit relationship, but the love birds ignored the advice and continued their relationship.
Pushed beyond endurance, the wife and fetish priest Gyamaa invoked a curse on the two, with the warning not to see each other again or face death moments after seeing each other.
Family sources say the spell was cast months ago, but the couple did not take it seriously.
But in apparent fulfillment of the curse, Akyea died last week and just a day later his girlfriend, Sarah Serwaa Bonsu died.
The head of the deceased family, Kwaku Akyena confirmed that the wife has admitted casting the spell.
He disclosed that the family had sent a delegation to the Antoa shrine with the wife of the deceased to perform the necessary rituals before burial of the dead can take place and free the rest of the family from the curse.
