John Mahama with Omansomfo Nana Yaw Kwakye
Good Friday 2019 for Omansomfo Nana Yaw Kwakye, one of the prolific Akan presenters on radio who worked several years for Radio Gold FM and later for Muntie FM, turned out to be most special when he received a surprise visit from NDC Flagbearer and Fmr President, John Mahama.
The broadcast journalist had not been in the best of health since Muntie FM was forced out of business by the NPP government as soon as the Nana Addo became the president of Ghana.
Omansomfo has had an unfair share of the vicissitudes of life and when this came to the attention of the former President he decided to visit him to lift his spirit.
A frail but astonished Nana Yaw Kwakye with his family members couldn’t hide their joy and excitement when President Mahama, accompanied by Ambassador Victor Smith arrived at their home at about 1 pm on Good Friday.
