Turkey-based Mahatma Otoo is not disturbed by his continuous absence from the Black Stars despite his good showing for Bal?kesirspor. After games for Ghana's team B, the striker was handed his first team A call-up by none other than current coach James Kwesi Appiah ahead of a World Cup qualifier against Sudan in 2013.
The 26-year-old is, however, yet to convince Appiah for a recall to the national outfit since the latter returned for a second spell with the Black Stars last year.
“Kwasi Appiah was the one who invited me to the Black Stars for the first time, so he knows what I can do," Otoo told GHOne TV.
“He has explained he’s building a new squad, so since he knows me already, he wants to have a look at other strikers.
"When the time comes to introduce Mahatma, I’m sure he will do exactly that.
“I’ve worked under him before, so I know he will do that [invite me] at the right time."
Otoo had a great time at club level last season as he finished the campaign as Balikesirspor's second top scorer in the Turkish second tier.
He netted 13 goals in 31 outings involving 30 starts.
The forward has played for Umraniyespor, Norwegian side Sogndal, Esperance of Tunisia and local side Hearts of Oak.
