NDC condemns NPP Western Regional Women's Organiser for allegedly attacking communicator

The leadership of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western Region has condemned the NPP Western Regional Women's Organiser, Mrs. Abena Kwallah for allegedly assaulting one NDC Communicator, Baba Ali on a live radio political show.

The alleged assault incident took place on a Takoradi-based radio Kingdom FM Tuesday, May 28, 2019 where Baba Ali was representing the NDC party.

According to a statement signed on behalf by the party by its Deputy Western Regional Communications Officer, Hon Ebenezer Essien, copied to the media "Mr. Baba Ali was live on Takoradi based Kingdom FM with one General from the NPP as a co-panel member during the station's morning show program".

He continued that "The program was ongoing when Madam Abena Kwala, Women Organiser for NPP angrily entered the studio".

He alleged that "The woman shouted at everybody in the studio, verbally assaulting the NDC representative and other people in the studio including the host Frimpong Manso.Though she was not a panel member nor a guest to show, she forced her way to the studios because she believed Baba Ali was vehemently criticising the Nana Addo led government".

He revealed that Baba Ali has since reported the incident to the Takoradi Central Police Station for action to be taken immediately.

The party is, therefore, hoping the police will investigate the matter and prosecute the NPP's Women's Organiser without fear or favour.

The NDC-WR condemns in no uncertain terms the misbehaviour and bizarre attitude put up by the recently appointed Women Organiser of NPP in the Western Region, Madam Abena Kwala by attacking Baba Ali, our representative to the station on Tuesday, 28th May, 2019.

Mr. Baba Ali was live on Takoradi based Kingdom FM with one General from the NPP as a co-panel member during the station's morning show program.

The program was ongoing when Madam Abena Kwala, Women Organiser for NPP angrily entered the studio.

The woman shouted at everybody in the studio, verbally assaulting the NDC representative and other people in the studio including the host Frimpong Manso. Though she was not a panel member nor a guest to show, she forced her way to the studios because she believed Baba Ali was vehemently criticising the Nana Addo led government.

Baba Ali has reported the matter to Takoradi Central Police Station. It is our hope that the police will investigate the matter and prosecute Abena Kwala for her uncouth attitude.
