Flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party Dr. Papa Kwasi Nduom says ranging conflicts across the country should be blamed on President Mills.

He is of the view that President Mill’s continues silence on numerous conflicts in the country is a source of worry and challenged the President to speak out strongly against perpetrators of violence.

He tells Gold News that “All over the world we have leaders who show practical leadership, active leadership. What I mean by this is that, leaders who just don’t show concern but demonstrate it where there is conflict, where there are problems, where people are in danger and where lives have been lost”.

He further explained that the security agencies come to the scene when the commander in chief “tells the people that this is what you should not do and particularly when his own people engage in utterances or engage in activities that go contrary to the establishment and the enjoyment of peace, he must come out quickly and say I don’t support this”.

Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom believes this will reduce chieftaincy disputes, communal rift and ethnic conflicts in the country.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa in an interview with Gold News said Dr. Nduom is taking the people of Ghana for granted.

“Clearly, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom does not take the people of this country seriously’’.

“The people of this country don’t expect such statements which are unguided, which are reckless and do not make any sense at all to be made by a flagbearer of a political party”.

He further questioned the candidature of Dr. Nduom saying “we have to get serious in this country, no president will bring in cameras and the media to let you know that I have asked the Inspector General of Police to do this”.

He asked whether that is what Dr. Nduom will do when he become the president of Ghana.

He said that ethnic conflicts require tact as the initial media reportage may be misleading.

“The people involved don’t have clarity as to why they are attacking the other party”.

“Where was Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom when Ya-naa was killed? Dr. Nduom just like to be in the news to gain popularity’’, he said.
