Director of News for the Graphic Communication Group Limited, Mrs Mavis Kitcher has said newspapers play a critical role in the dissemination of relevant information of happenings in the country.

Mrs Kitcher said information disseminated in newspapers kept people abreast with the day-day happenings within the length and breadth of the country.

The Director of News said this during the launch of Graphic Regional Spotlight, a pull-out in its flagship brands in Takoradi.

Mrs Kitcher further said the Daily Graphic which was published online was meant to galvanize all communities in the various regions of the country into action and to ensure development in every strata of the society.

She in this regard urged the public to patronize the news brands produced by the Graphic Communication Group limited.

"I call on every true Ghanaians who is proud of our rich traditions and heritage to hold dear the Graphic Showbiz by purchasing a copy to read when it comes out every Thursday" She said

She explained that the editions of Daily Graphic, therefore would each month, be devoted primarily to the regions by delving deep into every aspect of the lives of the people.

She hinted this would go a long way to enhance education, business and social development as well as ensure national cohesion for sustainable peace.

Mrs Kitcher said the editions would champion the cause of the Western Region as well as other Regions for the needed government interventions.

She said the junior graphic would caters for children education and growth into adolescence while the mirror addresses the needs of members of every family with its interesting, exciting and educative stories published every Saturday.

She said "As a leader in the news industry it is a prime responsibility to use the expertise of our professionals not only to inform, educate and entertain citizens but also, to jolt members of all communities into actions for the progress of households, districts, the regions and ultimately, our beloved motherland".

Mr Ato Afful, Managing Director of Graphic Communication Group limited, encouraged people who cannot leave their mobile phones or few minutes to patronize graphic online every minute as they publish day to day breaking news, insightful articles and regular updates on stories.

Nana Kobina Nketsia V, the Chief of Essikado said the Region was blessed with better tourism potentials in Ghana and would therefore patronize the regional spotlight report.

The Deputy Western Regional Minister, Mrs Eugenia Kusi said the regional spotlight report would go a long way to bring a lot of benefits for the region and therefore urged them not to relent in achieving their purpose.

She also expressed her excitements and happiness towards the launch of the regional spotlight report and urged the Graphic Communication Group limited to use it as a source of development for the regions across the country.
