All top European leagues suspended, major athletics and car racing competitions postponed, no major sporting activity, the past weekend is arguably the worst in the life of any sport person.

Aside from the feeling of your adrenaline kicking up and down as your team win or lose is the other factor of making money from the game you love.

For sports fans who are not into the business of betting, the past weekend might have been terrible but not as much as a sports fan who is also an ‘investor’.

The weekend was dry, no excitement and no money too. There’s nothing to stake on and there is no hope that the pandemic that has hit the sports industry and thrown the calendars of major sporting events into disarray will be over soon for sports to return.

According to The Guardian, the UK government is anticipating that the virus will ‘last until spring 2021 and could see 7.9m people hospitalized’.

This is the UK which confirmed cases comes nowhere close to countries like Italy and China who grappling with the virus.

There seem to be no end in sight for the virus and football fans will have to brace themselves for sporting hunger.

All signs point to the fact that the past weekend won’t just be the last weekend without a major sporting activity.

Some fans whose weekend are usually dominated by the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and others took to social media to vent their frustrations over the absence of football.
