The Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has called on the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee to remain focused on its mandate to recover state funds misappropriated by political appointees and their accomplices.
Franklin Cudjoe emphasised the need for a firm and unwavering approach in holding political appointees and civil servants accountable for embezzling or mismanaging public funds.
He maintained that prosecuting those found guilty is essential to restoring public confidence and demonstrating that corrupt officials will face serious consequences.
In a series of posts on X on January 4, 2025, he stressed the importance of broadening ORAL’s investigations to include civil servants with suspicious wealth and the business partners of political appointees implicated in corruption.
“ORAL must be total! Suspicious civil servants, political appointees, and their business partners must be held accountable. It must not fail,” Franklin Cudjoe wrote.
As a vocal critic of the outgoing administration, he expressed his disgust over how political appointees who loot state funds continue to flaunt their ill-gotten wealth, often attributing it to hard work.
He called for strict action against such individuals to prevent further corruption in the future.
“They steal, loot, and stash away wealth for their families, then turn around and claim it’s from hard work. These wretched thieves have the audacity to say we are jealous of their ‘wealth.’ ORAL must stop this nonsense!! Thieves!!” he posted.
As part of efforts to combat corruption, the President-elect has established a five-member committee to lead the Operation Recover All Loot initiative.
