Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has challenged the opposition National Democratic Congress party to go to court if they have evidence of fraud in the PDS concession agreement.

According to him, for the NDC to resort to a civil approach by going to court if their accusations against government as regards the deal are not politically motivated or with malicious intents.

“…if they have conviction and have evidence that there is any fraud inherent, they should do the needful. So I want to challenge my colleagues on the other side, if it is not just for the politics of it, they should go to court. Let them resort to the civil approach by going to court and let the appropriate constituted court pass judgment if it is fraud because fraud vitiates everything. Once fraud is inherent there and can be proven then of course we can all come back and tell the story in a proper context”

The NDC at a press conference accused the Akufo-Addo administration of attempts to appropriate shares to associates through the proposed restrictive tendering.

According to General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the debacle surrounding the deal between the government of Ghana and Power Distribution Services is as a result of the greed and negligence on the part of the Akufo-Addo-led government.

“It must be noted that in the first place, it was the Akufo-Addo government itself that created the PDS mess through their greed and negligence thereby jeopardising the over GHC22 billion worth of assets of the Electricity Company of Ghana." He said.
