Police in Kibi in the Eastern Region on Friday night nabbed a sixth suspect in the beating to death of the headmaster of Salvation Army Basic School at Asiakwa.
Evans Aboagye, 18, was arrested from his hideout around 8:00pm.
“[He] is currently detained in custody assisting investigation,” the police stated.
The suspect is among six persons – all in police custody – said to have beaten George Somuah Bosompem, who doubled as Religious & Moral Education teacher, resulting in his death.
Four of the six suspects arrested so far have been facing trial at the Kibi District Magistrate Court for conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
They are Richard Anani, Emmanuel Mireku, Philip Okodie and Paul Boadu.
On Wednesday, May 8, the fifth suspect was arrested in Accra by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Hezekiel Boadu is said to have hinted the police of the complicity of Evans Aboagye, also known as Otorgo.
The Kibi District Police Commander, Superintendent Magnus Reindolf Sam, last Thursday told Onua FM that an autopsy report will determine what exactly killed Mr Somuah Bosompem.
