Mr. Ebenezer Anzah Kobina, a spokesman for the families of the three Takoradi missing girls who have now been confirmed dead, have expressed concern over the way and manner the deaths of their children were announced to them.

According to them, per Ghanaian tradition, the death should have been announced first to the heads of the respective families, but this was never done.

Addressing a news conference in Takoradi yesterday, Anzah said before the DNA samples were taken, the agreement was that the Police will sit with the four families and tell them the outcome of the DNA result.

But this simple agreement was not followed by the police and that, they made the announcement about the death of the girls in the open media with its attendant agony and pain to the families. Two of the families have, therefore, rejected the report, insisting that their children were not dead.

Earlier, the mother of Ruth Love Quayson said she was at home around 7:00pm when some police officers came to inform her of the result of the DNA test.

She said minutes after, a call came from the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to empathise with her, but she refused to speak to the president because she did not believe her daughter was dead.

“I reject the report because I know my daughter is not dead. I do not have the slightest feeling that my daughter is dead, the reason I reject the report”.

She continued, “I am an African and we Africans know how heavy blood and death are, but to be honest, I do not feel the slightest heaviness in me that my daughter is dead”.

But the family of Priscilla Kuranchie has, however, welcomed the report without hesitation. Mr. Alexander Kuranchie, father of Priscilla Kuranchie, told news men that as a Christian he welcomes the report and is looking forward to reunite with her daughter in paradise.

A Jehovah witness by fate, Alexander Kuranchie said considering the rate of killings that have plagued the country in recent times, confirming that the end time was near, he was not far from believing that his daughter might be dead until the DNA report tested positive.

According to him, since he does not have any evidence that his daughter is alive, he has no other choice than to welcome the DNA report confirming the death of his daughter.

He, however, expressed worry over the way the police broke the news of the DNA report to the families.
