Psychologists from Police hospital take parents of Takoradi kidnap victims through counselling

A team of Clinical Psychologist from the Police Hospital led by the Takoradi Divisional Commander and his men have visited the parents of the three Kidnapped victims in their various homes to counsel them, MyNewsGh.com has learnt.

The visiting team was made up of the Takoradi Divisional Commander ACP Mr. Duuti Tuaruka, Clinical Psychologist ASP. Mr. Foster Naneworto, Inspector Charles Austin Adjei, Sargent Sarfo Asiedu, Sargent Isaac Dankwa and Sargent William Ofosuhene.

The team first visited the first victim Priscilla Blessing Bentum’s parents and then proceeded to victim Ruth Love Quayson parents and ended at Priscilla Mantabea Kuranchie’s Parents house.

MyNewsGh.com was informed the Clinical Psychologist took them through issues they can use to psych themselves in this difficult time. He again encouraged them and reassured them of getting their children back.

The visit follows a request by parents of the three kidnapped girls in Takoradi in the Western Region that they be counselled. They appealed to the Ghana Police Service to help them undergo some psychological counselling in order the overcome the trauma they are going through.

The parents made the appeal when a delegation from the police administration on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police David Asante Appeatu led by the Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo- Danquah visited them.

The parents during the visit in which MyNewsGh.com sat through, were very grateful to the Police for work done so far and urged them to do more to bring back their children but appealed for the services of a clinical psychologist to assist the parents of the victims to overcome the trauma they are going through.
