Former Asante Kotoko defender Richard Manu popularly known by the Porcupines’ fans as ’90-90? has formalised his stay at the club’s Youth Team penning a five-year deal on Wednesday.
The Ghanaian-born German, who represented the club between 2007 and 2010, has been a key member of the Reds all-new Youth Team.Richard Manu was part of the team of coaches who conducted the justify-your-inclusion exercise that marked the birth of the side which was disbanded two years ago.
The German-trained Youth Development Coach has since been with the team conducting training sessions and helping in the grooming of the selected players.
Richard Manu was a centre-back during his playing days and was a part of the 2008 squad that won the Ghana Premier League.
He was also won the President’s Cup and the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Cup in 2008.
Since retiring from playing, Richard Manu has been involved as a coach at some lower-tier clubs in Germany. He was a part of third-tier sides DJK Dillingen in Saarbrucken, Borussia Neunkirchen and Lisdorf FC in Saarlouis, Germany.
