Sakawa money kills young man in Tamale

What appeared to be a misunderstanding over the sharing of 'sakawa' money has caused the death of a young man (name withheld) in Tamale.

Eyewitnesses accounted that the incident occurred when two feuding sakawa groups clashed around the Nyohini roundabout over the weekend.

One of the suspects identified as Halik Hamza is in the grips of the Tamale Police.

Northern Regional Police Crime Officer, Superintendent Mahama Arhin, confirmed the incident to Citi News, and implied that investigations were underway.

Superintendent Mahama Arhin said the suspect, Halik Hamza, was assisting the police in their investigations.

The regional Crime Officer, however, disclosed that the crime rate had drastically reduced in the Northern Region.
